Get Brighter, Younger Looking Skin Using DIY Tomato Facial Masks
Tomatoes aren’t just great for your salads, pastas, or drinks, your face likes it too! With all the commercial and expensive facials being offered in the market, it’s one of nature’s best kept secrets (and one that big skincare brands wouldn’t want you to know) that it’s possible to achieve healthy, glowing skin at a fraction of the cost.
Tomatoes are rich in vitamins and minerals. They also rank high in the preparation of anti-aging products to help you look and feel youthful. They help fade away fine lines, wrinkles, and age spots.
They are also considered as natural bleaching agents and are very helpful in lightening the skin tone. Its antioxidant and antityrosinase activities are often utilized to lighten the complexion and also protect the skin from damage. It balances the skin’s pH levels, which in turn balances the natural oil produced by the skin.
With all of these benefits, it’s no wonder a lot of companies have taken advantage of such fruit (or vegetable, the debate still stands) as an ingredient for their beauty products. Fortunately enough, you can too! Aside from consuming them raw, tomatoes, like other skin brightening fruits and vegetables, are safe to be placed directly on your face and skin.
Here are a few simple ways on how you can make your own tomato facials:

- You may either slice, puree, blend, or grate the tomatoes.
- Apply the slice or mixture directly over the skin, massaging it gently in circles.
- Leave it on for 20 minutes.
- Rinse off with water.
- Repeat this process daily.
2. Tomato & Milk Cleanser
- Mix 1 tablespoon of tomato juice and 1 tablespoon of raw milk.
- Take a cotton ball, dip it in the mixture, and apply on your face.
- Leave it on for 15 minutes.

3. Tomato, Sugar & Flour Scrub
- In a bowl, mix together 1 tablespoon of sugar and 1 tablespoon of flour.
- Grab a slice of tomato, dab it in the mixture, and gently scrub on your face in a circular motion.

- Rinse off with water.
4. Tomato & Honey Mask
- Blend or puree one tomato.
- In a bowl, mix the tomato, 1 teaspoon of curd, ½ teaspoon of honey, and 2-3 teaspoons of gram flour.
- Apply it on your face. Avoid contact with eyes.
- Leave it on for 30 minutes.
- Rinse off with water.
A few more tips:
